Project description

This project included two (2) major systemic renovation projects, which included boiler removal and replacements and circulating pumps in several buildings and the removal and remediation of hazardous and, or contaminated soils for heating tanks and the replacement of three (3) above ground tanks.

DFI provided comprehensive Construction Management and Inspection (CM&I) and Material Testing for the correctional center. The project scope included the replacement of the boilers in Buildings A, B, C, D and E according to plans and specifications and the second renovation focused on the installation, testing and approval by Anne Arundel County, Maryland, for the new systems before utilization.

The first task encompassed removal and replacement of 10 boilers and circulating pumps in buildings A, B, C, D and E. Coordination with the 24/Seven (7) facility operation was streamlined by phasing with the Contractor to complete shutdowns during off peak overnight shifts. The second portion of the project included removal and remediation of hazardous and, or contaminated soils for four (4) heating fuel tanks and replaced with three (3) above ground tanks.

Subject matter expertise from DFI ensured shake-out of the systems and proactive solutions for both projects.
