Urbana Salt Yard Facility Upgrades

Project description

The new 10,000-square-foot Urbana Salt Yard Facility structure utilizes structural concrete walls and slab on grad with structural steel framing on top to support the fabric covering.

DFI provided Construction Management and Inspection (CM&I) services for the facility upgrade project. The project scope of work included, but was not limited to:

  • Construction of a new two (2)-story office building.
  • Construction of a 10,000-ton salt barn structure, road and material stockpile area paving.
  • Construction of a six (6)-truck bay barn, new wash bay and attached six (6)-truck bay barn and a material and equipment storage barn.
  • Demolition of existing salt dome.
  • Installation of lighting, motorized gate, double-pipe gate, and fencing.
  • Installation, maintenance and removal of sediment control measures and unclassified earthwork.
  • Relocation of the existing generator and installation of a new generator.
  • Water main and sewer line relocation and upgrades.
