This project involved the stabilization of approximately 550 ft. of the Little Antietam Creek which runs adjacent to Greensburg Rd. The main objective of this restoration was to create a stream channel that is more resistant to erosion. This project reduces the amount of Nitrogen, Phosphorus, and Sediment in Washington County.
DFI provided construction inspection and monitoring services for the project. Duties included maintaining material delivery tickets, tracking all line item quantities, inspecting the installation and quality of plantings, and monitoring pavement patching, line striping, and traffic barrier installation. Surveillance of created pools, rifles with j-hooks, cross vanes, root wads, armored banks and imbricated rip-rap, riparian areas with grasses, brush layering, fascines, live stakes, trees and shrubs was also required.
In addition, DFI provided improvement suggestions to Washington County which were adopted by the designer and implemented during construction.
