DFI provided the construction management, inspection, and material testing for a one mile long, 10’ wide, multi-use paved trail in the Broadneck Peninsula Trail which is located along the College Parkway in Anne Arundel County. The total length of this biker/hiker trail is about 9 miles, and connects the B&A Trail with Sandy Point State Park. The American Hiking Society has included Broadneck Peninsula Trail to be part of the American Discovery Trail which extends from California to Delaware.
DFI also monitored compliance of two 1400’ spurs which connect the trail to the Broadneck Library and Walnut Road Drive along Cape St. Claire Road. Other specialty inspections include traffic signalization, ADA crosswalks, ramps, pavement markings to SHA standards, and an installation of a storm drainage system to improve water quality.
This project was constructed using Federal funds administered by the Maryland State Highway Administration. Material testing and Materials clearance had to meet compliance with county and Maryland SHA specifications. DFI provided detailed coordination of existing BGE gas and electric, Comcast, Verizon, and Broadstripe conflicts and relocations.
