Water Main Relocation, MD-175

Project description

This Anne Arundel County, Maryland Department of Public Works (DPW) project requires a professional engineering firm to provide Construction Management and Inspection (CM&I) services for the replacement and relocation of distribution and transmission water mains.

DFI is providing Construction Management and Inspection (CM&I) services for this water and wastewater project. The Anne Arundel County, Maryland DPW requires a professional engineering firm to provide CM&I services for the replacement and relocation of both distribution and transmission water mains, which equate to approximately 37 linear feet of 24-inch water main and 40 linear feet of eight (8)-inch water main. Water house connections and fire hydrants also require replacement, relocation and installation in conjunction with the Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA), widening projects for Maryland Route 175 and National Business Parkway.  The construction contract for this water main relocation is included as a segment of work included as a portion of the overall award of the Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT) SHA construction contract AA4365371. The relevant provides contract plan sheet documents, which were prepared by KCI Technologies, Inc. (KCI) for Anne Arundel County, Maryland and MDOT SHA.

Working with the Anne Arundel County Project Manager (Pradeep Kumar), we were able to remove approximately 3,000 linear feet of 20-inch water main bypass and 24 feet x 20 feet TS/V. Saving Anne Arundel County approximately $1 million in construction cost.
