Project description

Calvert County, Maryland's Appeal Convenience Center is a new state-of-the art solid waste and recycling center. The site design includes a one (1)-way traffic flow for residents and helps to decrease wait times.

DFI provided Construction Management and Inspection (CM&I) services for this solid waste and recycling center project, located in Calvert County, Maryland. The project includes over 12,000 cubic yards of excavation, construction of 600 linear feet of concrete retaining wall, mass grading with identification and removal of unsuitable soils and partial replacement with off-site select and partial use of geogrid for subgrade improvement. Additional work included paving and milling (heavy and intermediate duty), concrete paving and pads, underground and at-grade Storm Water Management (SWM) facilities, micro-bio-retention structures, a one (1)-story office and administration building, ramps, landings and curb and gutter capping.
